After 28 years in the media industry, award-winning broadcaster Mary Jo Beach retired as the Vice President/General Manager of 4 major radio stations in the Mohawk Valley she started the very first winery in Oneida County.
As an upstate New York native, Mary Jo has committed her entire professional and personal life to the Mohawk Valley region.
Bringing people and organizations together is what Mary Jo truly loves to do, and it shows. She has been involved in many community projects and has served on dozens of boards.
As a graduate of Trocaire Mount Mercy College in Buffalo, New York, Mary Jo holds a degree in Business Administration. She has also participated in coursework at the New York State Wine and Culinary Center in Canandaigua, New York. Mary Jo has drawn upon these achievements to lead and implement her plan for Villa Verona Vineyard.
Villa Verona Vineyard is Mary Jo’s vision! As the founder of the first winery in Oneida County, Mary Jo’s leadership of the Vineyard has created a winery that will exclusively process and distribute New York State wine under the label Villa Verona Vineyard.
Tom Basille is our Secondary Wine Maker at Villa Verona Vineyard and has a Chemical Engineering Degree from Pennsylvania State. He has always had a passion for wine! He has actually made homemade wine for over 20 years (60+ different types of wine) and has been with us since day one!
